I am trying to create some rituals with my family, friends and myself.
Thursday, for example, is a family movie day. Where I sit down with my two kids to watch a movie they choose.
I noticed on Saturday nights, when everybody is asleep, that I can’t let go of the weekend. Not yet. So I stay up at night, catching up on the internet and looking for a good entertaining movie.
Not a smart move. I know I regret it every Sunday morning. But I think it is my need for me time that is, ehem, mine.
Weekend in its current state, while refreshing for my soul and family bonding, is consuming and feels like work.
I wish I can have some off days, from work and from family-centred weekends.
