كيف كان لازم أجاوب
في مقابلة عمل، بعد ما أخبرني المُـقابل عن الوظيفة ، سألني: هل هي الوظيفة التي تبحثين عنها؟
سكتت وفكرت، رفع المُقابل الآخر -والذي اتفق أنه رئيسي الحالي- رأسه ونظروا باهتمام.
قلت: مثير للاهتمام، لكن الوظيفة التي أريد لن تتحقق قبل أن أكمل دراستي العليا بعد ثلاث سنوات، لذا نعم هذه الوظيفة هي التي أبحث عنها
أخبرت أختي وقالت بحزم: مابياخذوك. بدون نقاش وأكدت لي مرة ثانية أنهم ما بيوظفوني. الآن ما أملك إلا إني أنتظر.. أكره الانتظــــار

I think you should have said yes this is the job I want and the job I am seeking and I won’t have a better job elsewhere! :-p

I wanted to be honest and before they asked about my goal, which I made clear. I tried to be consistent with the goal, anyways, 6af 🙂 Thanks

Honesty is good, but it doesn’t always work in a job interview. Sometimes you have to tell the truth even if you know that it would hurt your chances to say it because if you lie it would show.
In the interview for my current job I was having a really great time. I was acing it. Then just when it was about to end one of the managers in the interview panel looked at me and said “tell us honestly why you want to leave your current job”. I knew right then that if I tell the truth it might hurt my chances but if I lie they might now that I’m lying. Besides maybe they had already heard something and they new the reason. So I told them the truth, that I had fought with boss and complained against him so I have no chance if I stay in the same place so long as he’s my boss. I was really shocked a month later when they still gave me the offer.
I’ve been in many interview panels. What I look for in an interview is skill, honesty and commitment. I wouldn’t like it if someone told me that they only want to take the job for a few years and then quit. But then again, I have to weight it in my head and see. If this person is good then taking him/her even for a short period is better for me than taking someone whose inferior even if they will commit to me for a longer period.
It all depends on the people who interview you and how skilled they are at interviewing. Where I work we only do panel interviews and the people who participate in the panels are trained on how to conduct job interviews and what kind of questions to ask, what signs to look for, etc.

seriously, I also think honesty sometimes doesn’t work but there I had no choice, otherwise I was to look distracted. I am kinda relieved with saying the truth.

Exactly, Muscati, my current boss was there and I’ve already made it clear that I’m looking to continue studies after which I’m going to my dream job. So it would contradict if I said yes this is the one I’m looking for.
Today I went to the interview not knowing the job offer, because I was nominated to it by my current boss. My job right now is temporary so he is helping me in finding a decent job. I am so grateful to him and, actually I will write him a thank-you letter right now, plus to the other interviewer
